The falling leaves of November signal a season of gratitude and thanks. My gratitude seems more significant and more defined this year. I am grateful every day to do the work I am called to do for Ohio Valley Voices. It has kept me focused and clear in my resolve that we must continue to do the work of supporting children who are deaf and hard of hearing to listen and speak.
I am amazed at the grace and strength the staff and families have shown over the last eight months. And I am reminded; people are good and strong and resilient and capable. I am grateful to be reminded of that reality. I am thankful for the people who have said “yes” whenever we have called upon them, and I am grateful for their assistance.
I am thankful for the continued success of Ohio Valley Voices and the positive impact on children’s lives and their future. I am grateful every day when the children can attend our program in person because that is one day closer to their future.
I am grateful for the opportunity to see the impact OVV has had on our graduates. It fills me with joy every time I hear of their success, and I am thrilled to hear about their lives when they visit us.
Ohio Valley Voices has found our niche in the world, and because of our outstanding work, many lives have been changed. Be grateful this thanksgiving season because even though the pandemic has altered our realities, it has not changed our resolve. There is still much to be thankful for.
Gratefully,
