About Sophia

Hi, my name is Sophia Buckeridge. I am a 17-yo High School Senior and live in Loveland, OH. My passion is dance and I will be attending the Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University (OCU) on a dance scholarship in the Fall.

I have trained at Broadway Bound Dance Academy (BBDA) since I was age 3 and perform in ballet, pointe, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, modern, tap, and hip hop. I have been a part of the BBDA Dance Competition Team for 9 years and have won numerous national and regional solo, duet, and group titles. In addition, I am a part of a local Dance Collective (Artistic Dance Center Collective) that performs for free at local community events, churches, and festivals to share the love of dance and God with others.

My goal is to earn a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance from OCU and then pursue a professional dance career. One day I would like to own and run my own dance studio. I really enjoy teaching dance classes and choreographing new dance routines. Outside of dance, I like to be with my family and travel. My favorite travel adventure was watching the New Year’s Eve celebrations and fireworks in Sydney two years ago.
